Where separate paths converge into working AI

Three structured tracks — from the first line of Python to a deployed project with a practising engineer. Each week builds on the last, each track feeds the next.

Three Tracks

From roots to canopy

Each course is a self-contained stage. Complete one and you carry its outcomes directly into the next. The tracks share a canopy — the ability to build and explain a working AI system.

Roots: Programming and Statistics
Track 1 · 7 weeks · RM 465

Roots: Programming and Statistics

Python written to be read by others, and the statistics needed to say whether a result means anything. Written for beginners, including those returning to study after many years.

  • Six hours per week — recorded and live
  • Weekly exercises with individual feedback
  • Twice-weekly office hours
  • Written record of course completion

Branches: Applied Deep Learning
Track 2 · 15 weeks · RM 1,880

Branches: Applied Deep Learning

Neural networks, computer vision, sequence modelling, transformers, fine-tuning and evaluation — taught alongside the engineering practices that keep experiments reproducible.

  • Eleven hours per week, two evening sessions
  • Four assessed projects with tutor code review
  • GPU credits included
  • Written record of course completion

Canopy: Capstone and Mentorship
Track 3 · 22 weeks · RM 4,070

Why Latentgrove

What makes the structure work

Rooted progression

Each track builds from the one before. You never sit in a session covering material you haven't had the vocabulary to absorb yet.

Personal feedback, every week

Exercises are reviewed individually, not auto-graded. You receive written notes on your actual code and reasoning.

Real compute included

GPU and cloud credits are part of the programme. You train on real hardware instead of scaled-down toy examples.

Mentors who currently work in the field

Capstone mentors are practitioners at organisations in Malaysia and the broader region — not retired instructors.

Compatible with full-time work

Recorded sessions, flexible office hours, and Malaysian evening live classes mean you don't need to leave employment to study.

Written completion records

Each track issues a formal written record. Canopy graduates receive a hosted project page as part of their portfolio.

Ready to trace your path through the grove?

Cohort sizes are kept small so that tutor attention stays meaningful. Send an enquiry and we'll talk through which track fits where you are now.

Common Questions

Things people ask before enrolling

Do I need prior programming knowledge to join Roots?
No. Roots is written for people starting from scratch, including those who studied something unrelated and are now moving toward a technical field. The only prerequisite is comfort with reading in English and access to a laptop.
Can I take Branches without completing Roots with Latentgrove?
Yes, if you already have working Python and a grasp of probability and linear algebra. We review a short written assessment before confirming entry to Branches. Send an enquiry and we'll walk through what that looks like.
What do the live sessions look like, and are they recorded?
Live sessions run in the evening (Malaysian time) and cover problem-solving, Q&A, and code walkthroughs. All sessions are recorded and available for a reasonable period after each cohort closes, so missing one does not put you behind.
How does payment work? Are there instalments?
Full course fees are due before the cohort start date. Instalment arrangements may be considered for Canopy on a case-by-case basis — mention this in your enquiry and we will discuss it with you directly.
What is the written record of course completion?
On completing a track, you receive a dated letter from Latentgrove describing the curriculum, assessment methods, and your standing. Canopy graduates also receive a hosted project page linked from the Latentgrove site. Neither document constitutes an academic qualification under Malaysian law.
How many learners are in each cohort?
We keep cohorts small — typically between ten and eighteen participants — so that individual feedback remains practical and office hours don't become a queue. Exact numbers vary by track and intake.
